Online Content Mantra - Keep it Short and Simple

Share |

It takes less than a minute for your website visitors to click 'Back' from your website and browse your competitor's website. Content is the king and hence your content should look like one. Your web content need to have all the following ingredients to impress the readers and entice them to register:

  • 1. Simple sentences: Keep your sentences simple, straight to the point. Talk in direct /indirect speech, but be consistent. Don't confuse your readers.

  • 2. Short sentence: Avoid lengthy sentences. Lengthy sentences and paragraphs are least acceptable for visitors who actually are looking to buy your products/services. All they want to read the benefits and price in a short and simple way.

  • 3. Avoid jargons: Your aim is to get more clients for your products/services. Avoid using words that people who are not comfortable in English language find difficult to understand. You are not writing some research paper on astronomy or life science. Your only idea is to sell your product by reaching the target audiences.

  • 4. Straight and clear: Each webpage should talk in a set pattern. Say, Introduction, benefits and Call to action. Don't mix it up. If your content fails to impress your clients, your competitors' content will. So choice is yours.
Remember your content has to be salable. To keep yourself ahead in this online race do keep the above mentioned tips in your mind and create your web content.
